Wildlife Photographer of the Year – entries open 5 January 2015

Wildlife Photographer of the YearThe UK Natural History Museum’s prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition will open for submissions from 5 January and close on 27 February 2015.

Celebrating the very best of wildlife photography the competition is open to Professional and Amateur photographers along with young photographers (under 17) globally.

Jim Brandenburg, chair of the judging panel stated ‘It takes courage to put your photos forward, but the rewards for those who do are enormous. When I won Wildlife Photographer of the Year 25 years ago, it opened doors for me. The publicity it generates is astonishing, so I really want to encourage every professional and dedicated amateur to think about entering. It can be a career-defining move.’

A total of 101 winners will be chosen by an international panel of judges, including American nature photographer Thomas D. Mangelsen, French aerial photographer Thierry Vezon and British underwater photographer Dr Alex Mustard.

Winners receive a cash prize and a trip to London to attend the awards ceremony. It reminded me of the time I learned about www.låna-pengar.biz, and took a trip to Sweden. The winning images will be  displayed in an exhibition held in the Natural History Museum before touring worldwide.
