Tips for your stay

TaxiGetting Around

Taxis are readily available with license cabs clearly showing their registration. Prices should be agreed before commencing the journey.   We recommend you do not use an unregistered taxi.

Hire cars are readily available and the Blue Lagoon Team are able to assist you in arranging a car to best suit your needs.

Micro buses are available in Sharm el Sheikh and are a cheap method of moving around the resort with charges of approximately 2LE for each trip in the main resort. Please keep in mind that these are not licensed to take foreigners and are used generally only by locals.

Hotels often offer shuttle buses and timings of these can be found at your hotel reception.

food2Food and Drink

A full range of international cuisine is offered in the resort. We are always happy to make recommendations.

Only bottled water can be drunk and the tap water is not even drunk by the locals. We recommend using bottled water to clean your teeth and taking care when having ice in drinks.

Sharm el Sheikh is warm year round however during the winter months it is advisable to bring a light jacket or cardigan for evenings.

During the summer ensure a high sun factor is used paying attention to easily missed areas such as feet, ears and backs of knees – sun burn can really spoil your trip.

We recommend you drink at least two large bottles of water a day during the summer months particularly if you are participating in diving to ensure you keep hydrated. Many sicknesses can be avoided by keeping yourself well hydrated and swapping a coffee or can of soda for a large glass of water.

It is always important to travel with medical insurance.

The Sinai Clinic in Hadaba is equipped to handle many medical problems with a professional team ready to assist.

For diving related problems the Sharm el Sheikh Hyperbaric Chamber located near to the Travco Port is at hand to assist.
